The David M. Rubenstein Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Duke University holds extensive collections of travel materials. The collection is rich in travel narratives, travel guides, and in pictorial works related to almost every geographic region. Particularly well represented are the accounts of European travelers abroad from the sixteenth century to the end of the nineteenth century, and American travelers from the nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century.
